Privacy Policy

Short version: your data stays on your device unless you tell us otherwise.

Last updated — August 2026
Vriksha is built manual-first on purpose. There's no bank account linking, so there's no bank credential or transaction feed to protect in the first place. What follows explains the few places data does move, and why.

What we collect

Every transaction, category, and note you enter is stored on your device. We don't operate a central database of your financial data, and nothing you log is transmitted to us as part of normal use.

If you migrate from another app, the import happens entirely on-device — the file you select is read locally to build your transaction history. It is never uploaded to us.

Backup and sync

If you turn on backup, your data is sent directly from your device to your own iCloud, Dropbox, or Google Drive account, using each provider's standard connection. We don't operate the storage in between, don't hold a copy, and can't access it — the same way we can't see the contents of your personal Dropbox for any other app.

AI Insights (optional)

Insights is a separate, optional feature. When you open it, a summary of aggregated statistics for your recent activity — totals, category shares, trend deltas — is sent to our backend, which requests a short written summary from our AI provider. We send computed numbers, not your raw transaction notes or merchant names.

What we don't do

Changes to this policy

If this changes in a way that affects what leaves your device, we'll say so plainly in the app before it takes effect — not bury it in a version-number update.
